What 30 Teams Built in One Day at the AI Agents for Hire Hackathon
30 teams. One day at the AWS Builder Loft. A single brief: build agents that work like employees and are ready to be hired for jobs people would happily pay to offload.
June 29, 2026

On June 26, 2026, builders filled the AWS Builder Loft for the Beta Fund AI Agents for Hire Hackathon, powered by GMI Cloud. The theme was clear from the first minute: move agents past the demo stage and into work people will pay for. Every team built and shipped on GMI AgentBox, with access to more than 200 models through a single API key.
Teams of one to two builders had a single day to ship. The morning opened with workshops, the afternoon was a focused build sprint, and the day closed with three-minute demos and a live audience vote.
Four tracks, one goal
Track | Focus |
|---|---|
Agents for Hire | Focused AI workers that take on jobs people and companies pay to outsource. |
Workflow and Operations | Agents that automate repetitive business tasks, backend workflows, and execution-heavy work. |
Marketplace-Ready MVPs | Practical agent products ready to list, launch, and hire through AgentBox. |
Wildcard | Open to any agent-native concept solving an intense, everyday problem. |
The top three
The audience voted these three to the front of the room.
First place: Clinical Trial Oracle

An agent that predicts a clinical trial's probability of success before the readout moves the market. Seven agents and five models coordinate through an orchestrator-and-worker design, returning one verdict backed by an evidence chain. Built on GMI AgentBox with LangChain and Next.js. Team: Tianlu Zhu, Jiajie Gu, and Zihan Wu (UCSF), with Eunice Guo (NYU Stern).
Second place: Eli

The sales floor, remixed. A DJ-style controller for sales reps whose sample pads trigger AI agents and scripts on demand, with a slider that dials context from beginner to expert and live CRM sync. Team: Archit Lal and Maher Hasan.
Third place: East Agents, MRI

Market Research Intelligence. An agent crew that runs the research workflow end to end and returns a decision-ready brief. Team: Steven Yang and Noriaki Kishida (Minerva University).
Standouts across the partner stack
Built and shipped on GMI
Clinical Trial Oracle: a seven-agent orchestrator on AgentBox, five GMI-hosted models to one verdict.
LaunchStudio: one key and four modalities (LLM, image, text-to-speech, and music) deployed live on AgentBox.
CaseScribe: multi-model routing on AgentBox at $0.04 per session, with frontier models on demand.
GrowthScout AI: NVIDIA NIM running on GMI Cloud for explainable lead Value-Fit scoring.
Audit AI: a live tax-compliance pipeline served from a GMI Cloud container.
Rem: a voice-first assistant deployed on AgentBox with scheduled routines.
NVIDIA-powered
DisOps, The Building That Talks: NVIDIA Nemotron voice with sub-two-second latency and automatic fallback, so guidance keeps flowing.
GrowthScout AI: NVIDIA NIM on GMI Cloud powering explainable Value-Fit lead scoring.
Standout engineering
Silicon Agent: a chip-design agent that drives a full EDA toolchain (Verilator, cocotb, Yosys, OpenROAD, sky130 PDK) and writes and verifies Verilog RTL.
Shipsense: a synthetic shopper swarm, 1,000 personas plus live VLM browser agents simulating A/B tests in parallel.
PayCrew, InvoiceOS: governed six-agent accounts-payable automation with risk-based routing and fraud signals, built on CrewAI and TrueFoundry.
PARALLAX: an agent that builds 3D mechanical CAD assemblies from a photo and a prompt.
Gauntlet: the hireable agent that vets other agents, scoring reliability and auditing claims on live Stripe rails.

Thanks to our judges and workshop leads
Big thanks to Roan Weigert (GMI Cloud) for judging and leading the GMI workshop, and to Abheer Singh, Abhinav Balasubramanian, and Shashank Verma (NVIDIA) for judging and workshops. Thanks as well to Beta Fund and the AWS Builder Loft for hosting, and to partners Voice Cursor, Snaplii, and Upscale X.
Powered by NVIDIA
GMI Cloud runs on NVIDIA GPU infrastructure, and that showed up throughout the day. Two NVIDIA judges evaluated projects: Abheer Singh and Abhinav Balasubramanian. Shashank Verma led a hands-on workshop helping teams deploy on NVIDIA NIM through GMI Cloud. Standout NVIDIA-powered builds included DisOps (NVIDIA Nemotron voice, sub-two-second latency) and GrowthScout AI (NVIDIA NIM on GMI Cloud for explainable lead scoring).
